Hey everybody,

Hitting a softball is no easy feat. You really have to know what you're doing at the plate and have the good fundamentals of hitting down to be able to successful make contact with the ball and get on base in a consistent manner. Here's a good drill for softball hitting that uses a batting tee.

Purpose: To develop balance as well as a firm front leg and a powerful back leg.

Procedure: The batter stands on a 2x4 and hits a ball off a toss. She takes her normal swing and tries to remain on the board during the swing. The partner stands facing the batter about six feet away and tosses the ball into the contact position.
